Obama and an extremely dangerous safe big small step.

Obama made a big move yesterday, but not a move that is going to change any laws about gay civil rights in America (he has been making those moves since he got to the White House).

Obama said that he now agrees that gays should be allowed to get married, but it's up to the states to decide. It's kind of a big deal, but it would also be like Woodrow Wilson saying "Sure women should be able to vote, but let's leave it up to the indvidual states to decide (for the record SC didn't sign on to the 19 Amendment until around 1960). If Lyndon Johnson had  only have said "Blacks should have their civil rights, but it should be up to the states to decide," I would be teaching a bunch of white kids at Robert E Lee Middle.

However, this is a significant move in the direction of full LGBT rights. Could it cost him a couple of thousand of votes in NC which might led to him losing the election? Maybe, but probably not.

* sorry my first blogging in years is so short, but it is a start.

One reason we're kinda screwed

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101006/ap_on_el_ge/us_campaign_money

A deep-pocketed alliance with ties to top Republicans Karl Rove and Ed Gillespie is pumping more than $4 million into key Senate races in a single week of advertising, a crucial infusion to counter a surge in Democratic Party spending as Election Day draws near.

Donald Duck meets Glenn Beck. Great Stuff and True

I don't know why it cut it off, I also don't want to spend the time to fix it...just play it from You Tube..its a great video

We are going to lose this Friggen thing!

Well, the title comes from an article written by Adam Mckay for HuffPost about 3 months before Obama beat McCain. For I while there I thought all the doomsayers for Dems in '10 were being just as silly.

I am not feeling that way anymore, looks like we might be done. People I respect, Ben Smith of Politico, Dave Weigel of Slate, and Nate Silver say it's over and the Repubs are going to roll, and I can't ignore that.

Maybe we will still pull it off, I am not sure but it doesn't look good. Gotta vote, but all my liberal friends are Twitter are spending all day cracking jokes about O'Donnell instead of finding ways to win in Nov.

I will post later why I think the GOP is going to win this thing. I can't believe they are probably going to win this thing.

It was William Gheen at the Bilo Center with a microphone

Spent all night looking to see who it was that questioned Lindsey Graham at Greenville Tea Party, and it was William Gheen ALIPAC. Major thanks to @QueerjohnPA for his help figuring this thing out.

Text of Email I received from him.

I did not question his decision making skills. I questioned if he could be influenced in his decisions by others that knew about his homsexuality since the general public is not aware of his alternative lifestyle.

Hopefully now somebody much larger than I will pick it up.

Pametto Trail Attack

(from my facebook)

Let me tell u a story. Nice peaceful ride around Palmetto Trail and out of nowhere comes huge bear! (possible large dog). This thing is growling and starts chasing me. So I take off but it keeps following. I am doing like 100mph (perhaps 15) through the forest dodging trees (on trail) and this thing chases me for 30 minutes! (Possibly 2 terrifying minutes). I am safe because of my speed. (Dog got bored)
